November 2010. The Protankgrup launched a group initiative by setting up a matrixed and centralised procurement unit simply named as GROUP PROCUREMENT. It is headed by the Senior VP Vendor Relations and putting together a team of procurement engineers, buyers, logistic experts expeditors and administrators.

Our mission is to ensure that we continue to deliver competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth. Rapid improvement in the effectiveness of our supply chains will be critical to meeting this challenge.

Even though the unit is still at its infancy it has proven to be an effective and strategic unit.

Under our Supply Chain Improvement Programme the action plan is designed to accelerate the competitiveness and deliver increased value to customers.   

At its core, the  programme has four main objectives

• better supply chain relationships
• developing global sourcing
• improving payment terms
• reduced burden of audits, through joint recognition of supply chain accreditations
